Each morning starts with a quiet moment of prayer, a quick tire check, and a deep breath. Then it’s back on the road. From the hills of Virginia to the warm streets of Georgia, every mile brings something new. Some days are tough, but every challenge reminds me why I’m doing this. It’s not just about the ride; it’s about sharing something meaningful.
Today I visited a school in Columbia, South Carolina. I got to talk with a group of fifth graders who asked some amazing questions. One of them wanted to know how I keep going when I get tired. I told them, sometimes it’s faith, sometimes it’s focus, and sometimes it’s thinking about a good burger and fries. Moments like these, where a student smiles or says, “you inspired me,” are what really keep me moving forward
This trip isn’t just about biking 1,400 miles. It’s about second chances, staying hopeful, and connecting with people along the way. Every turn of the wheel reminds me how far I’ve come, not just on the road, but in life. I carry the stories of the students I teach, the friends I’ve met, and everyone who believes it’s never too late to do something that matters.
